Sunday Schedule of Events for the Forty Hours Devotion

Hello Everyone,

Here is a reminder and preview of the events for this Sunday, March 31st for our Forty Hours Devotion.  First, if you missed the Friday preview, you can find it here.  The Saturday preview and schedule is here.  The major parish prayer this day is the closing Mass at 4:00 PM.  We look forward to welcoming Bishop Juan Miguel Betancourt from the Diocese of Hartford, Connecticut.  It should be a beautiful Mass with our choir, the school choir, the Knights of Columbus, visiting clergy, and more.  Once again, it will be a Sunday Mass so this would fulfill your Sunday obligation this weekend and would be the only Mass that you would need to attend, if you choose to do so.  Please join us in a special way as we celebrate our faith in the Eucharist and rejoice on this special Sunday of Lent.  Below is the full schedule of events and activities for Sunday.

12:00 AM – 7:00 AM – Silent Prayer and Adoration.

7:00 AM – Divine Office: Office of Readings.

Join us as we pray the “Office of Readings” from the Divine Office.  We will pray with the psalms of the Church and readings of Scripture and meditations of the saints or others, along with the universal Church around the world.

8:00 AM – Mass.

9:00 AM – Divine Office: Morning Prayer, followed by the Rosary

After the 8:00 AM Mass, we will pray Morning Prayer together, for those who would like to stay after a few minutes of quiet adoration.

10:00 AM – Mass.

11:00 AM – Soft Music with Guided Meditations and Reflections.

There will be some soft, prayerful music after a few moments of quiet adoration after the 10:00 AM with some meditations from saints and others throughout this hour.  Come join us as we pray together assisted with music and meditations.

12:00 PM – Divine Office: Midday Prayer and Angelus.

Join us as we pray Midday Prayer and the Angelus.  Both prayers should only take about five or ten minutes combined. The rest of this hour is dedicated to silent prayer.

1:00 PM – Silent Prayer and Adoration.

2:00 PM – Silent Prayer and Adoration.

3:00 PM – Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Join us as we pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and ask for God’s mercy.

4:00 PM – Closing of Forty Hours Devotion with Mass with Bishop Betancourt and Visiting Clergy.

Join us in a special way as we celebrate a special Mass with Bishop Betancourt, visiting clergy, the Knights of Columbus, special music and more.  It should be a great way to come together as a parish as we close our devotion and give thanks to God and receive the gift of the Eucharist that, as a parish, we’ve adored throughout the weekend.  Once again, this Mass will be the Mass for this Sunday and will fulfill your Sunday obligation.

5:00 PM – Reception at Saint Timothy’s School, Hosted by the CCW.

Immediately following Mass, please join us over in the school for a reception hosted by the Council of Catholic Women.  I’m grateful to the CCW for their work in putting on and hosting this reception as we give thanks to God for the gift of the Eucharist and close out a weekend of prayer as a parish.  We hope to see you there.
