Ninth Grade

Catechists:

This year our catechists for ninth grade are Andrew Lang, Liz Lind and Jill Gallagher.

Andrew Lang and his wife Alyssa have six children and live in Maple Lake.  He is the Headmaster of Holy Spirit Academy in Monticello, MN.  He is originally from Maple Grove, MN.  He obtained a B.A. in Liberal Arts at Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA.  He obtained a M.A. in Philosophy with Honors from the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, CA.  Mr. Lang fills his free time with his nose in a book, hunting and fishing, gardening, playing chess, tinkering on his vintage Mustang, and getting up to the family cabin in Crosslake.  He is continuing formation as a secular discalced Carmelite.

Liz Lind was raised in Corcoran.  She is a Physical Therapist Assistant for the St. Cloud Hospital.  She has four children…two who are currently attending St. Timothy’s school.  She volunteers as much as she is able in various ways throughout the school year.  She is Vice President of St. Timothy’s school board.  Liz hopes to enliven the faith with all whom she comes in contact with and to spread the word of the Lord.

Curriculum Overview:

We will be using the whole year for the  YOUCAT which is a condensed version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We will also be incorporating the Alpha Curriculum throughout the year with the YOUCAT.  The Students get to keep the YOUCAT and the student manual for which they will be able to refer back to for the rest of their lives.  Great questions come out of this curriculum and help the students see our faith and our church in a new way.
