Ninth Grade

Teachers:

This year our catechists for ninth grade are Sherry Zeisel & Devon Then.  Doreen Fobbe will be the 9th grade aide.  We are in need of one more 9th grade aide. We are so glad these ladies have stepped up.  All are new to teaching at St. Timothy.

Sherry Zeisel comes to us at St. Timothy from St. Bernard in Cologne.  She was involved there as a catechist for several years and as a cantor.  She looks forward to taking our students into the depth of our catholic faith.

Devon Then is a first year catechist this year. She has been a part of St. Tims since childhood. She works as a chemist and trainer in a lab in the cities but has a passion for anything outdoors. She is excited to share her experiences and help students navigate being a catholic teenager in today’s world.

My Name is Doreen Fobbe, this is my first year working as an Aide for St. Timothy’s Faith Formation, however I do have several years teaching catechism in my former parish prior to living in Maple Lake. I have two daughters in  the program and was looking for a way I could volunteer in our church community as well as grow in my own faith.

Curriculum Overview:

We will be using the whole year for the  YOUCAT which is a condensed version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We will also be incorporating the Alpha Curriculum throughout the year with the YOUCAT.  The Students get to keep the YOUCAT and the student manual for which they will be able to refer back to for the rest of their lives.  Great questions come out of this curriculum and help the students see our faith and our church in a new way.
