“The Church needs you, your enthusiasm, your creativity and the joy that is so characteristic of you.” – Pope Francis, WYD 2013
Our Mission Statement
The mission of the St. Timothy’s Youth Group is perhaps best summed up by the following passage from the Epistle to the Hebrews:
“But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today”, so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end” (Hebrews 3:13-14).
Of course, one goal is to bring 6th – 12th graders to the understanding that faith as a personal encounter with the Living and True God who loves each individual personally, powerfully, and intimately. However, this is a mission we share with all other members of the Church. Uniquely , as a Youth Group it is our goal to create a place of community for the youth of St. Timothy’s. This community allows for a place where young people can grow to be life long disciples of Jesus Christ, and develop a faith that will last far beyond their time here in the Youth Group.
We pursue this mission by holding one another to the standard demanded by the Gospel and joyfully encouraging one another to strive for the truest good which is God’s will.
We push the teens in our community to step outside of their comfort zones, because we believe that if you aren’t uncomfortable then you aren’t growing.
GOD IS CALLING YOU TO MORE!
JULY 27th: Packing Food at Feed My Starving Children
Our group put together 35 boxes ( 1,260 bags) of food that will be sent to Haiti to feed children there! Afterwards we gathered in the warehouse and prayed over all of the food that was being prepared for shipment.
