Current Volunteer Needs in our Parish
Faith Formation Aides & Catechists
The goal of this program is to supplement the faith formation children receive at home by developing and maturing prayer life, understanding of sacred scripture, and knowledge and appreciation for all things Catholic.
Help needed: catechists and aides to teach our parish faith formation classes
Musicians/Cantors/Choir
Our music ministry is open to anyone who loves to make music and praise the Lord through song including being a cantor at Mass, small group ensembles, and our Joyful Noise choir.
Help needed: cantors, small group ensemble & choir participants
Youth Ministry & Chaperones
Our mission is to bring 6th-12th graders to the understanding that faith is a personal encounter with the Living and True God who loves us each personally, powerfully, and intimately by creating a place of community for the youth of St. Timothy’s.
Help needed: chaperones for youth events, youth ministry Core Team participants
Council of Catholic Women
The CCW includes all women of the Church of St. Timothy, supporting and promoting parish projects and responding to the needs of the Church and society with the values of the Gospels and an attitude of service and spirituality.
Help needed: meeting participants, volunteers for events, support for parish activities
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion-Mass
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion share the Precious Body and Blood of Christ at Masses.
Help needed: additional Extraordinary Ministers to distribute Holy Communion at Masses
Ushers
Ushers serve as the first point of welcome at Mass, greeting parishioners, assisting with seating, and fostering a warm, prayerful atmosphere. They help maintain the flow of the liturgy by taking up the collection, offering direction during Communion, and distribute bulletins after Mass. Their calm, attentive presence supports the dignity of worship and helps every person feel at home in the parish community.
Help needed: additional ushers to assist at Mass
Pastoral Care Ministry-Homebound
The Pastoral Care Ministry brings Holy Communion to those people that are unable to go to Mass. Being able to regularly receive the Body of Christ is so important to them.
Help needed: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to serve the homebound
Knights of Columbus
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practicing Catholics in union with the Holy See. Knights strive to be better Catholic gentlemen, husbands and fathers by living out the Gospel in service to the family, parish and community through fun activities that promote charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
Help needed: men to join the Knights and volunteer for events that support the parish
Social Action Ministry (SAM) Quilters
S.A.M. Quilters of Maple Lake is a Social Action Ministry organization that makes quilts for those in need – those who may be sick, for fundraisers, and to various organizations.
Help needed: Monday volunteers interested in quilting or lending a hand to make quilts for those who are sick, for fundraisers, and for various organizations.
Building and Maintenance Committee
The Building and Maintenance Committee is made up of parish staff and parishioners to help the church and school with maintenance and repair planning.
Help needed: parishioners with maintenance or technical background to support the committee
Building and Maintenance/Grounds Upkeep – Church
Volunteers are needed regularly to help keep our church clean, safe, and beautiful.
Help needed: parishioners available for regular weekly tasks, handyman help Wednesday-Friday, snow removal, and projects as needed
St. Timothy’s School Volunteers
Volunteers are needed regularly for both regular help throughout the school year and for special projects to keep our school functional and beautiful.
Help needed: lunchroom helpers, qualified classroom, extracurricular, and academic program volunteers, beautification project volunteers, landscaping needs, volunteers for events
Cemetery Board
Our cemetery board is a service provided by the church which involves the management and maintenance of our cemeteries, providing a sacred and peaceful final resting place, for families who worshipped together in life, rest together in peace.
Help needed: volunteer April-October to assist in cemetery maintenance working independently, setting your own schedule
Safety and Security Committee
Our goal is to assess risks and develop and implement projects and policies that enhance the safety of our church.
Help needed: additional ushers, especially for Thursday school Masses
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
Since 1998, many faithful parishioners have united in taking an hour a week to adore, pray and rest in the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament both during the day and throughout the night, seven days a week.
Help needed: volunteers to cover regular open hours or subs to fill in as needed by spending an hour at a time with Jesus in the Eucharist
Liturgy Committee / Sacristans
The Liturgy Committee meets three times a year to present, review and discuss items relating to Mass and liturgical schedules; the sacraments; music; arts and environment; prayer services; and opportunities for prayer. Before each Mass, Baptism, service, etc., preparation details are completed for a smooth, faith-filled delivery and so Father Meyer and Father Magner can focus on the spiritual preparation.
Help needed: additional Sacristans to ensure everything needed for the celebration of Mass and other liturgical services is properly arranged and maintained
Church Environment/Decorating
This group decorates the church for the holidays, feast days, special events, and solemnities.
Help needed: volunteers to assist in decorating during the holidays
Welcoming Committee
The Welcoming committee contacts new members to welcome them to the parish and provide them important information and a contact for questions.
Help needed: volunteers to meet new parish members and welcome them to our church at a quarterly coffee & donuts gathering with Father Meyer and other church members
Lectors
Lectors communicate God’s word by proclaiming the readings from sacred scripture during Mass.
Help needed: additional lectors to read during Mass
