Forty Hours Devotion

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are having a good week and that you had a great Thanksgiving. I write today with some good news; Saint Timothy’s will once again be hosting forty hours of adoration in the main church during Lent. As you may remember, we did this last year, having a weekend of prayer and activities with the Eucharistic Lord. There was a great response to this and so we decided to do it again this year. Mark your calendars for the weekend of March 9th-March 11th. In a special way, please reserve the closing evening prayer time of 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 11th in your schedules.

The parish advisory council has already begun planning for this weekend and it should be another good weekend with the Lord. I hope this can be a great Lenten retreat for all of you and for our parish. Lent is a time for us to take time to slow down, to turn away from those things that distract us, and be with God. It is also wonderful to see so many different organizations and groups and people come together to use their gifts and time to bring the parish together around the Eucharistic Lord.  The true source of any strength that we have and ability to bring Christ and his love and peace to ourselves and others is centered around Christ in the Eucharist..

Stay tuned for more information and details, including a full schedule of prayer and speakers in the weeks and months ahead. For now, though, I hope you will mark that weekend in your calendar in a special way as a weekend of prayer, retreat, and reflection. May God bless all of you and your families.

Father Meyer
