I hope you are having a good start to the Christmas season this week. I thought I would share some news with you today. Saint Timothy’s will be hosting a seminarian for two weeks in January. We look forward to welcoming John Rumpza, who is a seminarian studying at Saint Paul Seminary, from January 9th-January 22nd. John is in Pre-Theology II, which means that he is finishing his philosophy studies this spring and will start his four years of theology in the fall. You can see his full biography below and his picture above. Please join me in welcoming him warmly to our parish. While his stay will be brief, he will be very involved in our parish’s life and activities during this time. It will be great to have him. Deacon Bobby will be returning to Saint Timothy’s in February to finish one final spring with us before being ordained a priest in May.
Here is John’s biography:
John Rumpza is a Seminarian for the Archdiocese of St Paul/Minneapolis in his second year of study. He grew up St Paul MN, before leaving to attend Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. After graduating in 2010 with a Business degree, he worked in both corporate and small business roles. While he had been open to a call to priesthood for years, even attending several discernment retreats, he never heard God calling him, up until the summer of 2015, when everything came together in a powerful moment of clarity. He joined seminary soon after, in the fall of 2015. In his free time, John enjoys playing sports (especially basketball), composing and producing music, and when it’s warmer, riding a motorcycle. He is looking forward to spending time with us in January!
