I hope all is well. Here is what’s new around the parish today:
- The big event today is, of course, the concert at 7:00 P.M. in the church. We’re excited to have Tony Deblois with us. Again, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the concert is free of charge. Come listen to great music, put in your own requests, and, most importantly, be inspired by Tony’s story and message. See you tonight.
- Today is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. The students in the upper grades of our school will be joining students and teachers from Catholic schools around the Archdiocese in the Cathedral to pray the rosary together. The students in the lower grades will go to the church and pray the rosary together. October is traditionally a month to focus on Mary and the rosary. Perhaps you can try to make time to pray the rosary today, if you don’t usually. If it’s been a while, here is a refresher on how to pray it and the different mysteries on which to ponder.
- Today is busy with the usual Wednesday activities. We have Bible study, youth group, and faith formation. Bobby, our seminarian, will be coming to the parish this afternoon and evening as well. We’ll also be celebrating his birthday, which he had yesterday.
- Thank you to all who came to the volunteer meeting for the capital campaign yesterday. It was a good turn out, and I very much appreciate the willingness of people to help. Thank you too once again to all those who have already pledged to the campaign. I’ll have more to share soon about this.
As always, there is certainly much more happening but there is a brief update on some of the highlights. See you tonight at the concert.
